Christmas Wreath-Making Day 1

Join Ruth Holt at The Wellspring for this wreath-making day in anticipation of Christmas.

This is a great opportunity to gather together in a calm, relaxing, and friendly environment, to make a Christmas floral arrangement. No expertise required, just bring yourself and a pair of secateurs!

Hot drinks, a simple homemade lunch, and afternoon cake are included in the price. Also provided are materials such as wreaths, containers for arrangements, candles, foliage and trimmings. However, if there are specific things you like to use or wish to include in your arrangement, please do bring them with you – as well as a pair of secateurs.

Due to the popularity of this event in 2025, Ruth will be running the same workshop over two days - Friday 27th and Saturday 28th November. Numbers for each day will be limited to 12.

Programme

10:00am – 10.20am: A Time for Coffee and Meeting the Group

10:20 – 10:40am – Some guidelines for assembling your arrangement/making your wreath.

10.40 – 11.25am – Create your arrangement. Ruth will be on hand to help.

11:25 – 11:40am – Pause for refreshments.

11:40 – 12:45pm – Complete your arrangement. Ruth will be on hand to help.

12:45 – 2pm – Light Lunch

2pm – Event ends.

About Your Workship Leader

Ruth trained as a high school teacher and has spent a number of years in teaching both in Secondary and Primary schools. She has lived overseas in various places, including time doing missionary work in Thailand. Ruth has 3 grown up daughters, and 4 grandchildren. She lives in Malvern with her husband Andy.

Ruth has always loved flowers and sees flower arranging as an enjoyable hobby. Over the years she has enjoyed doing flower arrangements and bouquets for churches, weddings, and receptions. She also loves making wreaths and table arrangements.

Ruth has learned a lot from attending some floristry club demonstrations and watching You Tube clips to gain ideas and tips. She has discovered that when arranging flowers there is no real 'right or wrong' way, so find it is an enjoyable activity that can be very relaxing.

About The Wellspring Ledbury

The Wellspring was founded by wardens, Joe and Cathy Silmon, in early 2023 as a non-denominational Christian retreat and events centre. Established to serve, support, and resource the Body of Christ primarily in the Malvern Hills and surrounding three counties areas, we organise and host public and private events, provide venue hire, plus rental of a residential, self-catering, retreat cottage.
