The Throne of Grace

“Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need.”

Join Joe and Cathy at The Wellspring for teaching and times of guided reflection exploring one of the extraordinary invitations of the New Covenant: to come boldly into the presence of God.

At the Cross, Jesus did far more than secure the forgiveness of our sins. He took our sin upon Himself and gave us His righteousness, changing both our identity and our standing before God. We are no longer defined by condemnation or separated from Him by our failure; in Christ, we have been made new.

When Jesus died, the veil of the Temple was torn from top to bottom. The barrier was removed. Through Christ, a new and living way into God's presence has been opened, and we are invited to draw near — not because we have earned the right to come, but because Jesus has made the way.

And where does that way lead? To the throne of grace.

This retreat is an invitation to explore what it means to live as a child of God who truly belongs in His presence: forgiven, accepted, brought near and welcomed. Through biblical teaching, guided reflection, prayer and extended periods of personal retreat, we will consider what Jesus has secured for us and what it might mean to respond to His invitation: Come boldly.

Set in the peaceful surroundings of The Wellspring, there will be space throughout the day to slow down, listen and spend time with God personally. Retreat areas will be available both indoors and outdoors, weather permitting. Numbers are limited to 15 to maintain a peaceful atmosphere and allow plenty of personal space for reflection.

10:00-10:30am – Start – Welcome/Registration/Hot drinks

10:30-11:30am – Session 1 (Joe): The Cross — A New Beginning. A New Identity.

11:30am – 11:35am: Short Break.

11:35am – 12:30pm: Session 2 (Joe): The Torn Veil — Permission Is Granted

12:30pm – 1:30pm: Lunch.

1:30pm – 2:30pm: Session 3 (Joe): The Throne of Grace — You Belong Here

2:30pm – 2:35pm: Short Break.

2:35pm – 3:30pm: Session 4 (Cathy): Maranatha — Prophetic Music and Worship Ministry

3:30pm – 4:00pm: End – Coffee/Cake.

About Your Quiet Day Leaders

Cathy and Joe Silmon are passionate about creating spaces for people to seek and encounter God. With years of ministry experience between them (in teaching, worship, evangelism, discipleship and prayer) they aim to help others discover God’s presence in the stillness, while providing a warm welcome and hospitality. They have been married for 30 years and have two grown-up children.

About The Wellspring Ledbury

The Wellspring was founded by wardens, Joe and Cathy Silmon, in early 2023 as a non-denominational Christian retreat and events centre. Established to serve, support, and resource the Body of Christ primarily in the Malvern Hills and surrounding three counties areas, we organise and host public and private events, provide venue hire, plus rental of a residential, self-catering, retreat cottage.
