Walking the Labyrinth
“Show me your ways, O Lord; teach me your paths. Lead me in your truth and teach me.”
— Psalm 25:4-5
The labyrinth is an ancient Christian prayer practice that invites us to slow down, step away from distraction and make space to listen to God.
Led by Maria Burgess, this reflective day will introduce the meaning and practice of praying the labyrinth and give you the opportunity to experience it for yourself. Unlike a maze, a labyrinth has no dead ends or wrong turns: one path leads gently towards the centre and then outward again.
As we walk, we can bring to God the things we are carrying, become attentive to His presence, listen for His voice and simply allow Him to meet us along the way.
Whether the practice is completely new to you or already familiar, this will be a gentle and unhurried day of prayer, reflection and encounter with God.
Numbers are limited to 15 to ensure a peaceful atmosphere, allowing personal space for reflection.

About Your Event Leader
Maria Burgess’s journey of faith and unity began during her studies in English and Divinity at Liverpool College. With over a decade as a Parish Catechist and sixteen years as a Lay School Chaplain in North Liverpool, Maria has dedicated her life to guiding children and young people, as well as leading workshops and days of reflection for the Archdiocese of Liverpool. Trained as a guide in Walking a Labyrinth, she brings a contemplative spirit to her ministry. Now settled in Ledbury for the past eight years, Maria serves as Lay Chaplain at her local surgery and works with LEAF, a local charity rooted in the vision of unity across Ledbury’s churches. Her heart continues to pursue the dream that "all may be one, as you and I are one, Father." Maria lives in Ledbury with her husband Mason and is a devoted mother of four grown-up "treasures".
